District Mineral Foundation (DMF) Initiative

Our Commitment to Mining Communities under DMF program

The Jaintia Institute of Technology, in alignment with the objectives of the District Mineral Foundation (DMF), is dedicated to the welfare and sustainable development of communities affected by mining operations. Established as a technical and vocational institution in a mining-impacted region, the Institute works to empower local populations through quality education and skill development.

By supporting the DMF's goal of utilizing funds under the Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY), the Institute aims to minimize the negative effects of mining on health, environment, and livelihoods, while promoting long-term socio-economic growth.

Impact and Achievements

Since partnering with DMF, we have trained over 1,200 individuals in various technical skills, rehabilitated 50 acres of mined land, and provided healthcare services to more than 3,000 community members. These efforts contribute to the DMF's mission of creating lasting positive change in mining-affected regions.

Together, both entities strive to create inclusive, sustainable opportunities that directly benefit mining-affected individuals and areas, ensuring that mineral wealth translates into human development and environmental sustainability.
